Ram Disk Kit (2003)
The RamDisk Kit was created to fill a basic need that was lacking in Mac OS X at the time. There were no tools on the market to create a Ram Disk on boot up similar to the Ram Disk feature in Mac OS 9. This kit attempted to fill the void. I orginally created this to use during my video performaces. Since it's inception there have been many tools written to meet the need of creating a Ram Disk at boot time.
How does it work?
The quick answer without getting too technical is it utilizies a custom startup script to build a Ram Disk at boot time. Go ahead and download the kit and you can view the scripts.
